Additional information
This volume was conceived to encourage a critical dialogue between performance studies and urban theory, policy, and practice; published in 2009 (paperback 2011), it became a founding text for the now-established field of urban performance studies. Solga wrote the 3,500-word introduction with input from Hopkins and Orr, authored two 500-word section introductions as well as a 6,500-word chapter, and mentored six of the other chapters through several edits each. In 2013, Hopkins and Solga published a second book, Performance and the Global City, building on the momentum of the first book's reception and extending its insights.
