This work developed from further analysis of testing carried out as part of EU project NEMISREF (GRD1–40457) in partnership with Greek consultant Stamatopoulos and Associates and French contractor Soletanche-Bachy. The frequency dependence of topographic amplifications was here clarified in a physical model for the first time and the data are being used currently to validate numerical models and, hence, allow further parametric studies.
