Additional information

This book chapter reports the specific outcomes from an AHRC/EPSRC funded Designing for the 21st Century programme led by Williams, which sets out future scenarios and business models in the design sector. Williams’ specific contribution has been the development of future global scenarios, the research methodology and framework, survey and interview design, and a taxonomy of new business models arising from the results.

This has and continues to inform sector practice and has been endorsed by the Design Council and British Design Innovation. This has led to a number of specific programme developments, and additional publications, including:

Design 2020: The Future of the UK Design Industry, Cooper R, Evans M, & Williams A, 2008, ISBN 978-1-8620-233-7
