Additional information

This paper performs an FE analysis of a high speed forming press where Harrison selected and implemented the major components. The fundamental analysis to drive the ram at up to 1000/min was done by Harrison as was integrating the feed system into this using a time arbitration system to prevent collision. The analysis of such a high speed is important as it carries manufacturing rates beyond conventional limits into under-analysed areas, since this is a novel press so its significance will be revealed once it becomes widely adopted.
