Additional information

<02> This collaborative research with the Chief Scientist of the ChinaGrid project (Jin) was sponsored (in the UK) by the Leverhulme Trust (RPG-101). This is an extended version of a paper that was published at the high-ranking IEEE Grid 2011 conference and presents a cloud reconfiguration mechanism to dynamically optimise system performance, which shows significant performance improvements over INRIA’s Entropy VM manager for clusters. This research has impacted on several areas including service provision algorithms (Hwang, NCCU Taiwan), and has featured in two recent surveys of state-of-the-art techniques for management and virtualisation in cloud computing environments (Wang, Qinghai; Rana, Cardiff).
