Additional information

<05> Published in the premier journal in information theory. Significantly advances the understanding of end-to-end delays in networks with fractal traffic and finite regimes; these findings are of particular significance given Leland’s discovery in the 1990s that fractal traffic dominates the Internet. The research results have found application in dynamic resizing of data centres (Wang, Tsinghua; Wierman, Caltech), active network probing (Rizk, Hannover), delay-bound analysis (Jiang, NTNU Norway; Jiang, Huazhong), and modelling priority-queue systems (Wang, Chinese Academy of Sciences). Results motivated new funding for this research from the German Science Foundation (CI195/1).
