Additional information

The performance evaluation of multipoint cutting tools such as bandsaw is very challenging and time consuming due to its low depth of cut compared to the edge radius. This paper reports on the quantitative performance evaluation of bandsawing steel materials using specific cutting energy (Esp) parameter conducted by leading researchers in this filed. After successfully collaborating with a major bandsaw producer (SNA Europe), the technique provides a solution for quick and reliable way of measuring bandsaw performance. The results provide valuable information for researchers, manufacturers and end users to choose a correct bandsaw.
