Additional information

This paper reports for the first time the use of suspending nanoparticles to stabilise free radical dispersion polymerisations by wet chemistry, without the need of any conventional stabiliser. It represents a completely new route to functional polymer composites where metal oxide nanoparticles can be immobilised onto the surface of the polymer beads to modify significantly their properties. There is a great potential for this method to be applied in industrial production of functional nanomaterials.
