What The Experts Say
The Wellcome Trust commissioned 'What The Experts Say', a second, complementary film to 'Centrefold' in preference to using text-based information, and because of the clarity with which issues relating to labiaplasty could be conveyed in film form. 'What The Experts Say' focuses on adding a specialist documentary perspective to the understanding of labiaplasty. It provides commentary and in-depth interviews with UCLH partners Sarah Creighton (Gynaecologist) and Lih-Mei Liao (Psychologist) about their world leading research into labia surgery. A specialist-focused medical approach was adopted to create an informative tool for health professionals on the subject and to enhance still further, and from a new perspective, the public’s awareness of the subject. 'What The Experts Say' in conjunction with 'Centrefold' allowed Fenton to create a more complete website, and to fulfill more comprehensively the Wellcome Trust’s requirement to educate on public health issues. Fenton adopted the web-based approach to distribution to encourage audience participation on-line. 'What the Experts Say' was launched on the 'Centrefold' website in July. 2012. The film was directed by Ellie Land, produced by Siobhan Fenton and shot by Emma Dalesman.
‘What The Experts Say’ was presented at eleven international medical conferences and integrated into several psychology and midwifery courses in Norway, USA and the UK.
