Additional information

<13>This work provides a new insight on the assessment on vulnerability in complex networks using the notion of permeable boundary areas. Its relevance to multiple disciplines has led to an EPSRC grant proposal (Ma as PI, submitted) in collaboration with Vito Latora (Maths, QMUL, v.latora@qmul.ac.uk), Martha Russell (Stanford, marthar@stanford.edu) and Ossi Nykänen (Tampere, ossi.nykanen@iki.fi); a collaboration with Guy Woodward (Ecology, Imperial, guy.woodward@imperial.ac.uk) to use a network approach for biomonitoring ; a cross-disciplinary project to assess impact with Maxine Robertson (Business Management, QMUL, m.robertson@qmul.ac.uk) and Andrew Parker (Grenoble, andrew.parker@grenoble-em.com) and an invited talk at INTECOL (major ecological congress, www.intecol2013.org).
