A New Method for the Synthesis of Signature Data with Natural Viability
This paper was the first major publication to address the generation of synthesised data for biometric signature modalities. The work used novel techniques which assessed the natural variability inherent within a subject’s signature construction to generate realistic signatures that may be used for large-scale systems testing. This publication has been cited by a number of reported complementary studies within the signature verification community building upon this work. It has underpinned an EPSRC grant on signature usability testing (EP/I014608/1) and has contributed to theoretical developments within the internationally-adopted ISO/IEC 19794-7 standard.
