Representations and Evolutionary Operators for the Scheduling of Pump Operations in Water Distribution Networks
<22> This paper is significant because it formally defines two evolutionary representations of pump schedules which allow the search to remain within the feasible region – allowing faster and more reliable search. One of these was previously described by the authors. Additionally novel evolutionary operators are defined for the representations. These new techniques could be used in other applications. The result of testing on real-world problems show an improvement over the state-of-the-art. The journal is over 20 years old and with an impact factor of 2.109 is the leading publication in its field.
