Additional information

This paper is a meta-statistical analysis of 61 experimental warming studies, of up to 20 years duration, in tundra sites worldwide; it is not a traditional review paper (in spite of the classification). It synthesises experiments adopting common protocols to understand and predict the responses of tundra ecosystems to climate warming (at the individual plant species, through community, to ecosystem level). The work is greater than the sum of its parts, and has enabled site factors (including moisture status and grazing intensity) to be evaluated as potential modulators of ecological responses to warming.
