Additional information

This article is the first global study of the impact of climate change on PV (photovoltaics) and CSP (concentrated solar power) output. Current and future PV technologies were considered. We expect it to become a foundation article, useful for policy makers and investors in addition to academics. This article received comment in the Guardian newspaper (9/12/2011) and media websites, and was included in a California Energy Commission presentation to inform policy. Scientific rigor was ensured by the unique collaboration of two research groups, one with expertise in PV device physics and the other with expertise in state-of-the-art climate change modelling.
