Additional information

This paper presents a novel test and rigorous analysis procedure for evaluating the permeability of gas diffusion layer (GDL) of fuel cells. As a part of a systematic theoretical and experimental research on the characterization of GDLs, the paper reports a unique investigation on the effect of the PTFE on the permeability of the GDL. As this research is critical to the performance of the fuel cells, the findings in the area, together with a number of other related publications, have ensured a further grant from the industry (NetScitific Ltd) which has subsequently led to an invention of a fuel cell component being filed for patent.
