In this paper an innovative approach is developed for new stability criteria and a new method of constructing Lyapunov functions. Fuzzy system modelling and control is a new method for dealing with uncertainties and stability and Lyapunov functions are the key for this issue. The novelty of this approach has been recognized by some well-known researchers (for example, contact: Hamid Reza Karimi, hamid.r.karimi@uia.no). This approach has been applied to, among others, (1) Decentralized fuzzy control of nonlinear interconnected dynamic delay systems(contact: Chih-Lyang Hwang, Email: clhwang@mail.ntust.edu.tw), and (2) Time-delay T–S fuzzy systems (contact: G. A. Borges, Email: gaborges@ene.unb.br).
