<20> The paper proposes a novel approach to user engagement grounded in cross-disciplinary work in an important, emerging area: design for people living with dementia and other cognitive impairments. The design study documented in the paper was conducted over the course of 15 months. This paper received a best paper award (top 1% of full papers) from one of the leading publication destinations in the field of human-computer interaction. The significance of the work is shown by its recognition in a range of articles across multiple disciplines.
