Push-out Tests and Analytical Study of Shear Transfer Mechanisms in Composite Shallow Cellular Floor Beams
This is novel research on the shear capacity of perforated slim-floor beams. The work is innovative in terms of both the structural efficiency and the manufacturing process. The main beneficiaries of this work will be the steel and composite designers and manufacturers, as well as the academic community in terms of understanding of the fundamental shear behaviour of these slim-floor systems. The results of this research have demonstrated that full partial or full composite action is possible and the current design procedure, where no enhancement for composite action is included, is to be modified.
