The paper investigates the role of the public good and the public interest in planning. It is published as part of a three year programme of contemporary art commissioning and research organised by three London galleries: Chisenhale Gallery, The Showroom and Studio Voltaire. By publishing the paper as part of this programme, which is entitled 'How to work together', the aim is to extend a discussion of the public interest in planning into the wider realm of society and politics and in the forum of publicly funded gallery spaces.
