Significance of output:

This paper was officially presented by “Nature” in an official press conference to international journalists. Post-publication peer review by “Faculty of 1000 Biology” evaluated this paper as “exceptional” and “a new concept and a real breakthrough”. The method developed for the nanoanalysis of tissues allows to move away from the empirical treatment of chronic pain in patients and towards evidence based medicine in areas such as, osteoarthritis, atherosclerosis and cancer. Employing nanostiffness as a new marker will allow for a more accurate and functional diagnostics and has a high likelihood to revolutionize medical tissue diagnostics.
