This is a recent paper which proposes a novel mechanism for age related tendon degeneration and decline in mechanical competence. The paper attracted interested from the lay press and was picked up by a scientific writer for the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and distributed through “Eurekalert” which prompted further articles in Orthopedics This Week and by Rolling Thunder Scientific for the equestrian press.
