Co-authored book with six authors each playing an equal part in the project, funded by the ESRC. Wright was the main author of one chapter and a methodological appendix. As one of two ESRC research fellows on the project, Wright was also jointly responsible for gathering and analyzing the qualitative data which underpinned the rest of the book. The book reports the first national study of taste since Bourdieu’s Distinction to use the methods of Distinction – as well as to refine these methods in the light of subsequent developments in sociology/cultural studies.
