Additional information

<32> Educators often work in isolation, with little opportunity for resource sharing. Creating repository websites to alleviate this problem is well covered ground. However, most resource sharing sites fail to attract sufficient content and participants. This paper reports on a design of an infrastructure for online communities, and characterises three successful installations of this software for different computing educators' communities. The sites are CAS-Online (http://community.computingatschool.org.uk/), the Greenroom (http://greenroom.greenfoot.org/) and the Blueroom (http://blueroom.bluej.org/). This work has significant impact combining a novel repository design with social networks to create and support viable educators' communities. The sites draw over 9,000 regular users.
