Richardson played the lead role in the developments described in this paper producing the Herwig++ simulation of hadron-hadron physics including, together with his students Martyn Gigg and Jon Tully and postdocs Keith Hamilton and David Grellscheid, all work described in sections 3,4,5,9 and the developments for initial-state radiation and NLO simulation in section 6.
