UV-Inscription, Polarization-Dependant Loss Characteristics and Applications of 45 degrees Tilted Fiber Gratings
This work led to a UK patent application (‘Optical Device - Increasing tilt angle Bragg gratings’, PCT/GB2013/050579, 2013)]. Arising from this paper, in 2013 Chen established a collaboration with the Kath. Univ. Leuven (Belgium) and Bern University of Applied Sciences (Switzerland) to develop a compact optical coherence tomography spectrometer. From this work Chen obtained a Royal Society Research Grant (R24C01, £15k, 12/2012-11/2013). Recognition of this work has also been made in the development of other optical devices [Opt. Lett. 37, 353, 2012, Opt. Express 20, 19000, 2012 and T. Yoshino, J. Opt. Soc. Am. B 29, 2478, 2012].
