In this paper a decomposition analysis is used, for the first time, to investigate the main factors influencing the C02 emissions of European water and aviation transport activities for the time period 2001-2008. By using the most up to date and the most disaggregated data on transport and C02, this paper provides information that can be useful to design policies and future reduction strategies.
