Professor Jonathan Benger is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust (UHBristol), from which he is seconded to UWE for one and a half days a week. At UHBristol Professor Benger provides leadership of the Academic Department of Emergency Care, whilst at UWE he is responsible for strategic leadership and oversight to the Emergency and Critical Care research theme, generating grant income, delivering original research studies and generating peer reviewed research outputs, alongside the supervision of a range of clinical and non-clinical research staff.

Dr Jenny Lewis is a Senior Occupational Therapist at The Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases, Bath and holds a three-year Visiting Senior Research Fellowship at UWE, Bristol. Her research studies are based within the long-term conditions theme of the Centre for Health and Clinical Research at UWE. Dr Lewis’s work contributes to the developing pain sciences research, in particular strengthening activity in Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), body perception disturbance and novel treatment approaches.

Dr Mark Lyttle is employed by University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust (UHBristol), from which he is seconded to UWE for one day a week. His job title at UHBristol is Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine while at UWE he is Senior Research Fellow in Emergency and Critical Care, working closely with the Academic Department of Emergency Care at UHBristol. At UHBristol he is responsible for delivering care to acutely ill and injured children and their families, mentoring and teaching colleagues and students, and leading the clinical team. At UWE he is responsible for the development of research studies relevant to Paediatric Emergency Care, generating grant income, delivering original research studies and generating peer reviewed research outputs.
