<11>The AllDifferent constraint is the most important constraint in modern constraint solvers. We made two major contributions. We provided improved algorithms for the AllDifferent constraint, and we implemented these and many existing algorithms to provide a new understanding of which techniques were most effective. The paper provides valuable advice for constraint solver implementors. Amongst other impact this paper has been applied in computational biology. This paper was published in the leading journal in Artificial Intelligence.
