Additional information

<20>Presented at the leading international conference on user modeling, adaptation, and personalization (20% acceptance) this is the first paper to introduce a digital model of visual perception for visual analytics. Individual observer models, based on the small but significant differences between individuals' vision systems, allow interfaces to be adapted and personalised. The study employs thousands of individually-modelled eyes to exhaustively study both text and graph layouts, with the accuracy of the models being verified against standard ophthalmology charts. The work has led to the establishment of a workshop at the CHI conference.
