Additional information

<24>A woman's fertility is defined and limited by the number of non-growing follicles (NGFs) in her ovaries, since these are the precursors of eggs. No non-destructive method is known for individual NGF assessment, so there is a clear need for a reference model of how NGF populations change through life. We used modern datamining, machine learning and knowledge discovery techniques to extract and combine data from histological investigations, producing the first normative model of NGFs in the healthy population. With importance for the assisted conception and fertility preservation communities, the paper is now a standard reference.
