The preliminary version of the algorithm - “Social-P2P” (Reference [12]) has been used as a benchmarking method by a number of studies in the area of peer-to-peer resource discovery. The success of the research has led to a follow-on project entitled “Social P2P: A Self-organising Architecture for Peer-to-Peer Social Networking” which is currently funded by University of Derby Research for Teaching and Learning Fund (RLTF). This algorithm has been chosen to be further developed by the iVCE project funded by National Basic Research Program of China, in order to improve efficiency of resource discovery by building a social peer-to-peer network.
