Additional information
This paper demonstrates the importance of the relative scales of the abrasive particles and the cermet microstructural features in determining the mechanisms and rates of wear. In particular, relatively novel large-sphere reinforced materials are shown to exhibit low wear rates when abraded with coarse silica, as experienced in many mineral handling operations.
