<06>This paper introduced Dr. Multicast (MCMD) -- the first system for optimising IP Multicast group allocation within a massive scale data centre by utilising a principled algorithmic approach. A derived technology was productized in several IBM Application Middleware products resulting in $100M of attributable revenue, and 2 outstanding technical accomplishments awards for Chockler. It was disclosed in 2 USPTO patent applications 20080317028 and 20120016979. A one week course that included MCMD was given by Chockler at the EPFL's Summer Research Institute in July 2008.
