Additional information

<28>This paper broke new ground in using protein structure prediction methods to understand shade avoidance, a process that affects crop yields. The structure prediction confirmed that a mutation in a protein (phyA) can produce a structure that will mimic another protein (phyB) and hence interrupt the shade avoidance signalling mechanism in which phyB plays a central role. This and related work has been presented at SEB 2012. This paper and its results were highlighted in both ScienceDaily a major U.S. Science blogging web site with approximately 1.8 million views per month and in the Higher Education blog University World News.
