Compensating lateral chromatic aberration of a colour fringe projection system for shape metrology
This paper was invited for the journal’s special issue on fringe projection techniques based on our group’s international lead on phase metrology with colour sensors. Importantly, compensation of chromatic aberration enables parallel acquisition in the RGB planes of colour cameras and absolute phase based shape metrology from a single colour image (reported as Applied Optics 49 (31) 5847-5953, 2010). Follow-on-funds were received to develop sensors for pulmonary function assessment of infantile scoliosis patients which is an unmet clinical need and where temporal and spatial resolution are critical (British Scoliosis Research Foundation £37k grant COB-WISUP, Action Medical Research, £135k grant GN2087).
