Additional information

The developments reported in this paper form part of a larger body of work to develop and evaluate cryptographic primitives and frameworks specifically aimed at resource constrained nodes, where processing, memory and energy resources maybe limited, such as wireless sensors. The work was undertaken jointly by the authors whilst Adekunle was a PhD student supervised by Woodhead. The proposed CYPHER-C3 construct demonstrates efficiency which is typically between 2 and 3 times that of the de-facto standard.
