Gradient elution in counter-current chromatography: A new layout for an old path
This is the first time gradient elution has been applied in method development for Counter-current Chromatography (CCC) greatly expanding the polarity range for the separations being performed. It is also the first time a correlation between partition coefficient values, phase system polarity and elution profile has been established. This has led to an AstraZeneca CASE EPSRC Industrial studentship on rapid method development and to the application of CCC gradient methods for novel applications for industry to speed up method development (Dr Paul Hellier, Responsable Développement Industriel, Pierre Fabre, France – paul.hellier@pierre-fabre.com).
