Additional information

It is a challenge to calibrate a printer so that the correct colours are printed. Colour management of printers is difficult because of the complexity of how ink and paper interact. When ink cartridges are refilled with even slightly different inks it can invalidate the complex colour management and this is a barrier to the effective uptake of re-using ink cartridges. In this work, a new method has been developed for making corrections to the colour management of a printer after the ink cartridges have been refilled. Commercialisation of this new method is underway which could lead to greater uptake of ink cartridge reuse.
