This research was collaborative with The University of Innsbruck and Lenzing AG, Austria.

Very little work has been conducted on regenerated cellulosics (cellulose II) such as lyocell. This paper demonstrated that sorption of dyes onto cellulose II fibres is most closely associated with a Langmuir isotherm. This is highly relevant to a lyocell industry increasing in volume for textiles as its relevance as a sustainable fibre grows. The implications of this research are that the fundamental knowledge gained can enable a sustainable fibre to gain a greater share of the textile market.
