Additional information

This study develops a novel method for using a low-cost consumer ink-jet printer as a textile printing system; a related paper addresses the chemistry that is required in terms of the design of ink formulation. In this system red and blue inks were employed instead of the magenta and cyan inks used in half-tone printing. The basis of a colour-management system for this device was developed by determining the polynomial-transforms mapping between XYZ tristimulus values of output colours and the digital RBYK values. Performance was satisfactory and allowed useful application in small commercial design houses or for craft purposes.
