Additional information

There are many different colour spaces which can be used to specify colour. Currently there is no accepted method to convert colours between two of the most widely used spaces; Munsell space and CIE space. This work addressed this need and developed a robust method to predict Munsell hue from a CIE colour specification using a distance-weighted look-up-table. Performance was quantified and shown to be 1 colour-difference unit which is within visual tolerance. This work impacts widely in design and technical applications. The authors used this new model to develop better models of colour harmony.
