Additional information

Alkali treatment of cellulosic fabric is regularly done in the textile industry to improve the mechanical and chemical properties of the fabric such as dimensional stability, handle, reactivity, lustre, and fabric smoothness. It is critical to thoroughly understand the effect of alkali treatment on the dyeing and structural property of lyocell fabric to optimise the alkali treatment process, particularly considering the increasing demand for this fibre. In this work, the effect of alkali pre-treatment on the dyeing of lyocell fabric was thoroughly investigated and critically analysed to suggest optimum alkali treatment condition for lyocell. This will enhance the value and usage of this sustainable fibre.
