Additional information

An exhibition interpretation project of paintings, sculpture and the moving image on the theme of love. The exhibition charts a journey from flirtation and courtship, through jealousy, rivalry and betrayal, to marriage and the exploration of relationships in older age. The interpretation is described and discussed in an essay written by Dr. Kevin laycock of the School of Design, University of Leeds and published by the Atkinson gallery, Southport port. This is the launch exhibition after the gallery's major re-development. This £17 million redevelopment intergrates four Arts & Cultural managed venues, Southport Arts Centre the Atkinson Art Gallery, Botanic Gardens Museum and the Southport Library, into one regional cultural centre.
