Additional information

This paper demonstrates, for the first time, that inkjet printing is a viable manufacturing route for producing split ring resonators (which are manufactured structures used to produce a pre-determined magnetic response in various types of meta-materials up to 200 terahertz). This paper illustrates the 'transformative', efficient and environmentally friendly nature of inkjet printing as a manufacturing technology since the number of process steps needed to fabricate an end product are reduced; the function of the inkjet printed device is comparable to one produced by conventional lithography.
