Significance of output:

<16>This paper demonstrates that the contributions to worldwide Open Access (OA) from "Green" OA self-archiving are 4 times as great as the contributions from "Gold" OA publishing. These findings are both important and timely, because they have policy implications (especially for RCUK and REF policy). Data is collected and analysed from large samples of publication data across 14 disciplines.
