Additional information
<20> The paper received a" best paper" award at ACM CHI'12 (reserved for the best 1% of submissions). While participatory design methods have been developed and adapted for older people in general, this is the first comprehensive proposal of a participatory design process targeted at people in the early stages of dementia and their carers. Of particular note is the proposal's successful combination of different disciplinary perspectives (i.e. social model of disability and experience centred design) in an intentionally pragmatic design method.
