<13> This paper presents a significant new approach to distribution fitting. The work resulted from a year Kyungsup Kim spent on sabbatical from Chungnam National University, South Korea. The approach has subsequently been evaluated by other researchers (Mogens Bladt, National University of Mexico) who show some evidence that it performs extremely well compared with other techniques. This approach is both more accurate and numerically more efficient than previous methods. As such it should prove to be a popular practical choice once it gains greater familiarity and tool support is developed.
