Additional information

Part fixtures, clamping and other location mechanisms are essential subsets of CNC machining resources. Considering the fact that various fixturing techniques and attachments allow manufacturers to enhance their production capability without buying expensive machine tools, data-model developed for Part-110 of the STEP-NC standard was exploited in this work due to its versatile information modelling methodology. This work is of its first kind in utilising STEP and STEP-NC data entities for representing fixturing domain. However, representation of fixturing domain has not been included in the scope of Part-110. Nevertheless, this paper has received many citations for computer aided fixture planning research.
