Paper was first to draw attention to overstatement in progress towards the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) for safe water access. It also quantified overstatement for 5 sample countries. Paper's importance was reflected in Gundry's invitation to be interviewed for BBC programme "More or Less" [tinyurl.com/gen-eng-91] and invitation by Global Water Forum to submit discussion paper [tinyurl.com/gen-eng-92].
