Inclusion of material pre-2008: More Bad News from Israel contains three new chapters [Chapter 6, 7 and 8] and a further addition of 59 pages to the opening chapter which lays out the historical context to the conflict [p 110 to 169]. The three new chapters are based on extensive new empirical work. These comprise two thematic content analyses a detailed audience study. One of the content studies involves a three week sample of BBC and ITV coverage of the 2008-9 Gaza War [chapter 6, p336-368]. The other examines a week's BBC and ITV coverage on the attack on the Gaza flotilla in 2010 [chapter 8, p381 -393]. The audience chapter involved a sample of 641 participants who undertook surveys plus a further 40 who took part in six in depth focus groups [chapter 7, p369-380]. So each news chapter represented an extensive piece of new research which could stand alone as a refereed journal article.
